Rules:
All building MUST be done on the provided 12 x 12 base. Anything off the base will not be included in judging. There is no height restriction (the sky’s the limit).
No outside help is permitted. Individuals and teams must create without help from the audience. Parents can watch. If a participant has a question, they can ask Event Staff.
Participants will have a break time, but they can leave the floor during build time for restroom breaks as needed.
Water will be supplied. No food will be provided by Discovery World. Snacks can be enjoyed during the designated break time.
Schedule:
Please arrive on time, the competition begins promptly at 12:15 PM.
11:30 – 12:00 PM (Arrival + Sign-in)
12:15 – 12:30 PM (Welcome and guidelines)
12:30 – 1:00 PM (Planning and supplies gathering)
1:00 – 2:15 PM (Build Time)
2:15 – 2:45 PM (Break)
2:45 – 4:00 PM (Build Time)
4:00 – 4:30 PM (Judging, People’s Choice voting, announcements, and prizes)
Judging:
A panel of three judges will review each piece based on creativity, engineering, and theme. Bonus points will be awarded to individuals and teams who create a story about their piece. A trophy will be awarded to the winners.

People’s Choice Overall Winner – guests will have the opportunity to vote on their favorite overall piece from both age brackets.
