DISCOVER FIELD TRIPS

Guided Field Trips

  • Guided trips are scheduled in (2-3) hour blocks on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. *(Mondays availability the month of May)

    9 AM - 12 PM

    10 AM - 1 PM

    12 PM - 3 PM

  • School staff does not have to pay the $7 fee. Parents attending a field trip will need to pay $7 per person. Museum memberships do not cover the cost of field trips.

    Additional Fees:

    $50.00 lunch cleaning fee.

    Cancellation Fee: will be applied for no shows. This fee is calculated by the number of students attending.

  • Groups can schedule a lunch period when they book their trip. Groups larger than 40 may have a split lunch period due to space restrictions. A $50 cleaning fee will also be charged if groups have lunch in our room.

Self-Guided Trips

  • Self-guided trips are scheduled during normal business hours Thursday - Sunday.

    Recommend for groups 15 - 50 people. Groups are welcome to stay as long as the museum is open.

  • All adults and children will pay $7 the day of your trip.

    Self-guided trips must be scheduled in advance.

  • Self-guided groups can bring a packed lunch or purchase lunch in the Discovery Cafe. There is limited seating available in the Discovery Cafe and Mezzanine. Groups may have to eat in shifts.

Learning is more fun with friends!

Some of the best childhood memories are made with friends! If you’re a school administrator, group leader, or even a parent who wants to organize a group trip to Discovery World, we’d love to have you! Group rates for field trips are $7 per person, due on the day of your field trip. Schools are welcome to pay with a purchase order to avoid refunds due to missing students on the day of their trip to Discovery World. Schools and groups will be expected to return a signed Field Trip Agreement to reserve their date.

Reservations are required and group rates apply to 15 or more children. Our calendar books quickly, we recommend booking at least 2 months in advance during off season and 6 months in advance for peak field trip season (April and May).

Through a grant from the United Way Alliance of the Mid-Ohio Valley, your field trip is free to Discovery World on Market if your group is from Jackson, Wirt, Roane, or Calhoun County.

Please note if you are trying to schedule a trip in March, April, or May we strongly recommend booking 3-6 months in advance. This is peak field trip season and dates fill up fast.
