The Ball Factory

The Ball Factory’s central feature is the giant climbing structure that gives guests a safe, yet challenging, physical obstacle for varying abilities. The entire floor is whimsically designed with factory-themed exhibits that touch on many Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math (STEAM) concepts. The design draws its inspiration from local processes and Parkersburg’s industrial history.

This floor encourages open-ended exploration in an imaginative and immersive environment for children and families to play and grow together!

Key features:

  • “Tiny Tots” area: a private area specifically designed for 2 years and under to play with STEAM-themed fun!

  • Factory Climber: large climbing feature with Ball Hopper and slide

  • Digital Ball Wall: Kinetic factory-themed game)

  • Magnetic Ball Track: manipulate and design your own ball tracks to help feed the hopper

  • Magnetic Gear Wall: explore relationships of gears and how machinery use these to convert motion

  • Bernoulli’s Ball Popper: named after Daniel Bernoulli, this explores key concepts of fluid dynamics that relates pressure, density, speed and height.

  • Ball Sorting Machine, Delivery Truck and more: encouraging collaborative play!
